De Nationale ombudsman is een onderzoek gestart naar de problemen waar studenten uit het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk tegenaan lopen tijdens of na hun studie in Nederland. We kregen hierover verschillende signalen van en over studenten uit het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk.
We willen graag weten hoe jij het studeren en wonen in Nederland ervaart (of hebt ervaren). Wat gaat/ging goed? En wat kan/kon beter? Via deze vragenlijst kan jij jouw ervaringen met ons delen. Dat kan tot medio augustus.

Waar doet de Nationale ombudsman onderzoek naar?
Centrale vraag van het onderzoek is wat studenten uit Caribisch Nederland, Aruba, Curaçao en Sint Maarten in redelijkheid van de Nederlandse overheid mogen verwachten. Het onderzoek zal leiden tot aanbevelingen om de voorbereiding, het verblijf en de nazorg van de studenten - voor wat betreft het studeren in Nederland – te verbeteren.
Tijdens het onderzoek organiseert de ombudsman ook discussiegroepen met de (oud-) studenten en gaat hij in gesprek met belangenorganisaties, hulpverleners en (overheids)instanties. We verwachten het onderzoek in december 2020 af te ronden, dus houd onze website en sociale media in de gaten voor het resultaat!
Hotline: experiences from (former) students from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom about studying in the Netherlands
The National Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the problems faced by students from the Caribbean Netherlands while studying in the Netherlands or after obtaining their diploma. We received information on this topic from and about (former) students from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
We are interested in hearing about your past or present experiences with studying and working in the Netherlands. What went well / what is going well? What could have been / could be improved? You can use this questionnaire to share your experiences with us. Please do so before mid-August.

What does the National Ombudsman investigate?
The main focus of this study is to determine what students from the Caribbean Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten can reasonably expect from the Dutch government. The investigation will lead to recommendations for the improvement of the preparation, the living arrangements and the after care of these students, as they relate to studying in the Netherlands.
During the investigation the Ombudsman will also organise discussion groups with current and former students and speak to interest groups, social workers and government bodies. We expect to complete our study by December 2020, so please keep an eye on our website and social media for the results!
